Aleena shah Parent asked 5 years ago My daughter is 1 month old and has this white discharge coming out of her eyes, I don’t want to go to doctor in this condition, any idea how to treat it, is it something serious?
If the discharge is watery and there is no redness in her eyes than don’t worry. Do this massage as the Dr. told above. Clean the eye before doing the massage for best results. 90 to 95 percents newborn having this issue get better just by having proper massage.
You caan also watch video of how to do the massage of newborn for closed tear duct to learn the proper way of doing it. Be gentle.

Momina Obaid Doctor answered 5 years ago As your daughter is 1 month so we will try to avoid the medication there are few conditions
1. if there is only watery discharge and eyes r not swell then do massage with your finger from nose side of eye top to bottom of the nose…with your baby finger
2. If eyes are sticky and discharge is yellowish and eyes are swell then consult through pictures and further few question answer we will prescribe you medicine

She has discharge since birth or just started having it? Also is it clear or white discharge? Her eyes or red or not
